The week after Labor Day is like Wall Street’s version of back-to-school. Big money comes back from the Hamptons, liquidity normalizes, and sectors rotate fast. Historically, September is the weakest month of the year for equities, but that weakness often hides big opportunities in sector rotation—industrials, energy, and cyclicals tend to see inflows while tech takes a breather. • Ulta Beauty – Popped 4% after hiking full-year outlook. Wall Street still loves lipstick in any cycle.
• Affirm Holdings – Surged 15% after earnings crushed estimates. Buy-now-pay-later is acting more like buy-now-pay-richer.
• Autodesk – Rallied 10% after beating earnings and raising guidance. Software is still eating the world, one upgrade at a time.
• SentinelOne – Jumped 8% after a small EPS beat and bullish revenue guide. Cybersecurity stays hot as digital defense becomes non-negotiable.
• Ambarella – Rocketed 18% after lifting outlook on AI chip demand. Proof AI is more than hype—it’s demand in dollars.
• Dollar Tree – Inched up 1% on an upgrade. Now that Family Dollar is out of the cart, investors see a cleaner growth path.

Strengths – Liquidity returns as Wall Street desks refill after summer. Earnings season is winding down, giving cleaner reads on sector rotation. PCE staying on target keeps the Fed’s September meeting wide open for traders to speculate.

Weaknesses – September seasonality is historically bearish, and rate cut hopes could fade if inflation stays sticky. Tariffs remain a drag—just ask Caterpillar. Tech’s leadership is wobbling, especially with Nvidia’s China chip drama.

Opportunities – Sector rotation setups are rich: energy, financials, and industrials could all see capital flow as investors reposition. AI remains a secular driver with Ambarella and Autodesk proving that demand is sticky. Post-holiday volatility can be a gift for tactical traders.
