WTF PREMARKET REPORT – Wednesday, AUGUST 13th, 2025

WTF is Happening Today?

Market Mood:​
Midweek and the tape’s tossing traders a cocktail of upgrades, downgrades, and guidance cuts — shaken, not stirred. Futures are drifting as earnings season keeps separating the menu from the specials. The rotation game is still in play: defense stocks and cybersecurity are catching bids, while consumer names are tripping over lowered forecasts. VIX at a yearly low @ 14 handle, and IWM joining the rally mode.

Premarket Movers You Need to Know:

• Cava (CAVA) — Down 23.6% after missing revenue expectations at $280.6M vs. $285.6M and slashing guidance. EPS came in at 16¢ (beat), but when guidance gets whacked, the market walks away.
• CoreWeave — Off 9% despite beating Q2 revenue. AI demand is hot, but they admit they’re “capacity constrained” — Wall Street hates a supply chain sob story.
• Circle — Down 1.5% after announcing a 10M Class A share offering. Dilution isn’t dessert — nobody’s ordering it.
• Brinker International (EAT) — Up 8.8% after a solid beat: $2.49 EPS vs. $2.45 est., revenue $1.43B vs. $1.39B est. Chili’s still cooking.
• Hanesbrands (HBI) — Down 7.5% after yesterday’s 28% pop on the $4.4B Gildan takeover. Profit-taking meets takeover hangover.
• V2X (VVX) — Up 5.2% after BofA upgrade to Buy. Sustainable growth + acceleration ahead = defense name with offense.
• Palo Alto Networks (PANW) — Up 1.7% on Deutsche Bank upgrade to Buy. Cybersecurity fortress trade stays in vogue.
• SailPoint (SAIL) — Up 7% after JPMorgan upgrade to Overweight. Street says “buy the dip” — traders listening.
• KinderCare Learning (KLC) — Down nearly 20% after missing Q2 EPS and revenue; Barclays cut to Equal Weight. Not even snack time could save this quarter.

• Political: Tariff negotiations with China and Canada remain in the slow cooker. One tweet could change the flavor.
